I have recently started cycling and been caught up with the craze at the late age of 47. I have been amazed with the cycling groups in the area and a little apprehensive about riding with other people. My confidence is growing and people within the group make it all the more enjoyable.
This is my second bike, as I started with a Ride Lite, and I am thoroughly enjoying the additional compliance of the Scultura 4000. I am quite comfortable on a short ride into town, for a coffee, or a 100km tour with friends. The Scultura, or "Tim" as I call him, is the best value I came across in my search. This bike has responsive brakes, a 105 groupset is tough and fantastic value for money, the frame is light and gives a lower profile than the Ride. This frame is of a carbon construction, favoured by Team Lampre-Merida in the UCI Pro Tour, so it is good enough for me.
For my skillset this is a perfect choice and fit. In reality, as Cadel says, there’s no need for a $5,000 bike with $50 legs.
