I recently purchased this bike to replace a Lemond Versailles which was stolen. It is very slightly heavier, but the riding position is more comfortable for longer rides and the Zertz vibration damping inserts in the forks and rear stays help to smooth the ride over rough surfaces. The Roubaix also seems more stable.
The Versailles was equipped with Shimano Ultegra kit throughout, but the latest Shimano 105 kit is probably as good, if not better, than older Ultegra kit. The 2015 version appears to be specced with the lower Shimano Sora kit.
I opted for the Triple, rather than the Compact, because I am rubbish at climbing. The Triple has 27 rather than only 20 gears and a 30/30 (1:1) bottom gear ratio, compared to 34/28 (1:1.2) or even higher typical of many Compacts.
Only the saddle feels a little hard, but that may be because it is still very new and hasn't been 'broken-in' yet. Hopefully it will gradually soften, or mould to fit my shape better.
